Inception Racing – run by former Intelligent Money British GT champions, Optimum Motorsport – returns to the series for a one-off appearance at Silverstone later this month (June 26/27).
Brendan Iribe and Ollie Millroy are back behind the wheel of their McLaren 720S GT3 for the blue riband, three-hour '500' after impressing during the same event in November last year.
Indeed, Iribe was especially spectacular en route to third in Pro-Am and seventh overall despite a late setback that likely cost the crew an outright podium.
The team and driver pairing have since contested the Asian Le Mans Series, won a Le Mans 24 Hours invitation, and made several appearances in the likes of International GT Open and Fanatec GT World Challenge Powered by AWS on both sides of the Atlantic.
“It’s great to be heading back to British GT following our strong Pro-Am podium there last year!” said Millroy. “We’ve been racing in Europe and the US, so it will be nice to be back at my home circuit and competing in the Silverstone 500. The Pro-Am competition level in British GT is really high this season once again, so we’re certainly looking forward to the challenge.”
Team principal Shaun Goff added: “It’s a pleasure for us to return to the British GT Championship. For a number of years, this was our home-from-home and we enjoyed a great deal of championship success and created plenty of fond memories, so we’re delighted to be racing again at the Silverstone 500.
“Brendan and Ollie are showing great form in many championships, and we all know they gave everything last year to get a Pro-Am podium position. I’m sure it will be a good weekend for us, and we look forward to competing with many of our former rivals once again!”
Inception's McLaren is one of several race-by-race entries now confirmed for Silverstone where TF Sport and Team Rocket RJN also join GT3's full-season ensemble.
Optimum won the Drivers’ crown with Flick Haigh and Jonny Adam in 2018 before overseeing Ollie Wilkinson and Bradley Ellis’ Silver Cup-winning campaign 12 months later.
