United Autosports overcame adversity to post a hard-earned and unrepresentative seventeenth place in the penultimate round of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Brands Hatch.

01/09/2014: Misfortune for #8 & #888

Brands Hatch didn’t prove to be the luckiest event for two of the three Triple Eight BMW Z4 GT3s with Derek Johnston involved in contact in the #888 car which meant subsequent retirement and Warren Hughes and Jody Firth suffering a mechanical-related retirement on their race debut with the team in the #8.

01/09/2014: Ratcliffe takes GT3 debut points

Reigning British GT4 champion Ryan Ratcliffe drove a faultless race at Brands Hatch, claiming his first GT3 points on his debut in the top class of the Avon Tyres British GT Championship.

01/09/2014: Second gives Al Harthy third

Avon Tyres British GT Championship front-runner Ahmad Al Harthy will go into the final race of the 2014 season a fortnight from now still in contention for the coveted title, after securing an excellent second place finish in round nine at Brands Hatch.

The #31 Trackspeed Porsche 997 GT3 R of David Ashburn and Nick Tandy made a perfect return in the penultimate round of the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship with victory in GT3 whilst Beechdean AMR enjoyed a strong GT4 victory for Ross Wylie and Jake Giddings in the #407 Aston after a tense and fast-paced two-hour race at Brands Hatch.

Trackspeed Racing took their third win of the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship at Brands Hatch through returnees  David Ashburn and Nick Tandy in the #31 Trackspeed Porsche 997 GT3 R.

A sunny ten-minute warm up session this morning at Brands Hatch in the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship saw the #63 Trackspeed Porsche 997 GT3 R of Phil Keen and Jon Minshaw set the fastest lap, 1min 26.368secs.

Beechdean AMR were able to take double pole at Brands Hatch in the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship ahead of tomorrow’s two-hour race after with both the GT3 and GT4 team’s taking an advantage for their title hopes. 

30/08/2014: Trackspeed top second practice

The #31 Trackspeed Porsche 997 GT3 R of Nick Tandy and David Ashburn took the best lap of the second practice session at Brands Hatch in the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship with a lap of 1min 25.540secs sending them over half a second clear of second place. 

30/08/2014: Brands Hatch warms up

The first practice session at Brands Hatch in the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship saw Benny Simonson and Hector Lester top the times in the #3 Rosso Verde / Hector Lester Ferrari 458 Italia with a lap of 1min 26.495secs after a red flag caused a flurry of late changes at the top of the classes.

29/08/2014: MacDowall to race in British GT

Aston Martin Racing works driver Alex MacDowall will join Phil Dryburgh in the #6 PGF Kinfaun AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT3 for the final two rounds of the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship, in order to keep MacDowall sharp for the rest of his season.

29/08/2014: Adam aims for the title

With two rounds remaining in the 2014 Avon Tyres British GT Championship, the #1 Beechdean AMR Aston Martin Vantage GT3 duo of Andrew Howard and Jonny Adam have a 23.5 point gap to make up on leader Marco Attard of the #79 Ecurie Ecosse BMW Z4 GT3.

Declan Jones has had something of a mixed season so far in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship but for the season remainder it’s all change for the solitary BMW M3 GT4, with reigning GT Cup champion Jeff Wyatt joining Jones on driving duties with car preparation moving over to renowned BMW specialists, Geoff Steel Racing.
