Reigning Avon Tyres British GT Champion, Andrew Howard will attempt to win back-to-back British GT titles, a yet to be accomplished feat in the series' history, when he rejoins for the upcoming 2014 season.
The ice-cream magnate became an accomplished gentleman driver in his own right by lifting the hotly contested 2013 British GT Championship, and this year he will pair up again with AMR Junior Driver Jonny Adam in the same V12 Vantage GT3 that he took last year's GT3 title with.
"British GT is a fantastic championship and it's massively hard to retain the title," Howard told Autosport Magazine. "No one in the last few years has gone back with the same team, structure, drivers and with no upgrades allowed in GT3 we want to capitalise on everything we've learned."
Howard and Adam took just one victory in 2013, but were consistent points scorers throughout the season, and repeating this form will be key to ensuring a positive outcome this year.
"We haven't got the fastest car on the grid, but we've got a car that's very reliable and has a great chance of winning the title again. Jonny is fantastic from both a driving and coaching point of view. I'm very excited to drive with him and build on everything we've developed over the past two years as a team."
Howard and Adam will embark on their third full season together, and are looking to capitalise on the solid platform that has been created with Howard's Beechdean-AMR squad with more appearances planned in the SRO-run Blancpain Endurance Series. The dual programme would build on the prestige of taking pole position for the 2013 Total 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, a timeless classic in the GT / Endurance calendar.
More team news will follow over the coming weeks.
