+ Classic white and blue livery also returns
Aston Martin works driver Ross Gunn returns to the British GT Championship with Beechdean AMR this year to partner his former co-driver and mentor, Andrew Howard.
Reuniting the same combination that first raced together 10 years ago has also prompted Beechdean to reprise the classic blue and white livery with which both drivers previously won British GT titles.
Gunn spent 2025 campaigning the new Valkyrie Hypercar in IMSA and FIA WEC but also joined Howard in Beechdean’s Vantage GT3 at the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. It was their first appearance and class podium together since 2023 when the same combination came close to winning several British GT races en route to eighth in the standings.
But Gunn’s Beechdean roots go back far further. His father, Ian, raced Mini Se7ens for the team before a then 16-year-old Gunn was offered the chance to contest British GT4 alongside Jamie Chadwick. They went on to win the 2015 championship, becoming the youngest pairing to do so in the process.
It was a Red-Letter year for Beechdean and Aston Martin which also claimed the GT3 drivers’ title with Howard and Jonny Adam.
“I’m so excited to be back in the British GT Championship for 2026 and to have the opportunity, as part of the Aston Martin Racing family, to race again with Beechdean AMR and with Andrew,” said Gunn. “From watching my dad race Beechdean Minis when I was little, to the support Andrew’s given me through my career, there’s always been a strong link between myself and the team and it’s brilliant to be back.
“Andrew’s coming into the season as the reigning Silver-Am champion and finished 2025 on such strong form, so my target is to pick up where we left off and be fighting to finish at the sharp end.”
Howard added the Silver-Am crown to his collection alongside Tom Wood last season but is now re-joining the Pro-Am ranks thanks to Gunn’s Platinum status.
“It was brilliant to get back to championship-winning ways in 2025 and to finish on the podium at the 24 Hours of Spa,” he said. “For 2026 we’re aiming even higher as we return to the Pro-Am class with a livery that might remind a few people of some fantastic past times, and target the overall podium from the get-go.
“Having Ross back is brilliant. He’s been a regular in the garage since he was a child and it’s been awesome to watch his career go from strength to strength since he first raced with Beechdean AMR in 2015. I’m looking forward to the coming season more than I have done for a long time.”
Beechdean’s Aston Martin is the fifth to be announced so far after Full Send Racing and GBR Stratton Motorsport both revealed plans to enter two GT4-spec Vantages before Christmas.
Season 34 begins with media day at Silverstone on March 31 before the same venue hosts the season opener on April 25/26.
