Experienced Porsche Carrera Cup GB racer Josh Stanton joins British GT4’s reigning Silver class champion Luca Hopkinson at Optimum this season.
The team and its McLarens won all three GT4 titles in 2025, while Hopkinson and his former co-driver Harry George scored their maiden overall victories at Brands Hatch en route to third in the final standings.
Hopkinson, still just 19, enters his third British GT4 campaign and second with Optimum after spending 2024 with RAM.
“I’m super excited to get my second GT4 campaign with Optimum Motorsport going; we have high expectations based on our performance last year and Josh’s ability makes me look forward to it,” said the Anglo-American. “I’m going into this season feeling super confident and prepared.”
His new co-driver has contested several Porsche one-make series since 2021 but most notably in the UK where he finished fourth in Carrera Cup GB’s Pro-Am standings last season.
“I am really excited to be joining Optimum Motorsport for British GT this year,” he said. “They’re a fantastic team with a proven pedigree in the championship. Pairing up with Luca, bringing both his experience in the championship and the McLaren, is a huge bonus.
“I know we’re both raring to go for Silverstone in April and feel confident that we will be challenging for the title this season. A huge thanks to Evolution, GP59 and the Lexi May Trust for their support in getting me here!”
Silverstone hosts British GT’s media day on March 31 before the 2026 season kicks off at the same circuit on April 25-26.
