Rodin reveals shock British GT3 plans with Ferrari

Junior single seater powerhouse Rodin Motorsport will make its sportscar racing bow in 2026 when it joins the British GT Championship grid with Ferrari.

The team is already present in the wider paddock thanks to its GB3 programme and also operates further afield in the likes of F1 Academy, FIA F2 and FIA F3. It was formerly known as Carlin, a team that achieved great success in British Formula 3 during SRO's stewardship of the championship, before Rodin assumed full control in late 2023.

However, this is the first time that the New Zealand-flagged operation will have raced anything with a roof. Its weapon of choice is the new Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo, which has received significant upgrades over the first-generation model first presented in mid 2022.

Both of its drivers will be confirmed at a later date.

“We’re pleased to be adding a British GT programme to our activities for 2026,” said Rodin Motorsport sporting director Benn Huntingford. “It’s a well-established championship with strong competition and we’ll approach it with the same professionalism we bring to all of our racing operations.”

Rodin Cars founder David Dicker added: “At Rodin, we are always looking for new opportunities. GT3 is one of the strongest racing categories in the world and we are very happy to join it, especially with a Ferrari.”

Coincidentally, Rodin might be new to British GT but one of its other projects is not. Back in 2002 Dicker acquired the only Sintura S99 – a unicorn GT1 car that graced British GT's grid at the end of the 20th century – along with a spare chassis and moulds. Not seen publicly for more than 20 years, it was revealed alongside the car it inspired – the new V10-powered Rodin Sintura – ahead of 2024's World Time Attack Challenge in Australia.
